About Your First Visit
Vision Care Associates optometrists use a wide variety of tests and procedures to examine your eyes. These tests range from simple ones like an eye chart to complex tests, such as using a high-powered lens to visualize the tiny structures inside your eyes. A comprehensive eye exam can take an hour or more, depending on the number and complexity of tests required to fully evaluate your vision and the health of your eyes.
If needed, you will then be shown a variety of stylish frames for your new eyewear, or be fitted with contact lenses.

Insurance Plans Accepted
Vision Care accepts a wide variety of vision insurance from many companies, including but not limited to:

•SD, ND, NE Medicaid
•Vision Service Plan (VSP)
•BlueCross BlueShield of SD
•First Choice of the Midwest
•Avera Health Plan •Sanford Health Plan
•North Dakota Vision Services
•Eye Med (Sioux Falls, Tea and Watertown offices only)
•Midlands Choice (Dr. Anderson & Dr. Feser patients)
If you do not see your insurance policy above or have a question about whether you are covered at Vision Care Associates, please contact one of our many convenient locations.
Payment is expected at the time of service for all procedures unless prior arrangements are made. Services covered by an insurance company with which we have a participating agreement will be billed to the insurance company first.
Vision Care Associates will submit to most private insurance plans. Vision insurance benefits cannot be combined with any of our other promotional offers, coupons or discounts.
Our offices participate with the Medicare program (accepts assignment). We will file all claims to Medicare with a valid signature on file. Medicare does not cover routine eye exams and refractions and so payment for these services are required at the time of service.
When your insurance specifies a co-payment (which is usually indicated on the identification card), this payment must be made at the time of service.
Flexible Spending Account
Do you participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) through your employer? Your flexible spending account dollars can be used for prescription eyewear, including prescription sunglasses and contacts at any of our locations.
If billing is necessary, a statement will be mailed to you that is due within 30 days. Charges and payments for services received during the last few days before your billing date may appear on the following month's statement.
For your convenience, we accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and bank debit cards.
Please bring all health insurance information with you. We will need a copy of any insurance cards for our records. If you have any questions regarding Medicare, insurance policies and/or procedures, do not hesitate to ask. We will do our best to assist you.
